2010 - What’s in store for the coming year!
To start our engines Hampton Downs is hosting the New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing celebrating Bruce McLaren. This is a very memorable event with over 300 National registrations and 100 International Cars making the trip. Amongst these will be some very rare workmanship which is definitely worth viewing!

The lap record has been broken again by Mitch Evans during the NZ Motor Cup weekend.

Evans clocked in at 1:01.846, set on lap 12 of the second race with a best speed of 153.090 km/h.
The lap record was held by a Formula 5000, driven by Kenny Smith at 1:02.279.

Smith broke the record previously held by a Formula Toyota, driven by Daniel Gaunt at 1.04.7. The record was broken at the NZ Festival of Motor Racing celebrating Bruce McLaren on the 23rd January 2010. Smith's highest speed was 159.88 mph and he completed the 8 lap race in only 9:55.174.
The industrial units are all finished and opening their doors shortly!

Our onsite Restaurant, Gasoline Alley and Convention Centre are being constructed and completed in February, ready for conventions!

Skeet Shooting will begin, so you have plenty of time to practice before duck season begins!

The three Paintball arenas are also set to be completed in February (weather dependent)
The SUV Course will be completed in April.

The SAS-certified Commando Course will also be completed in April.
The Business Park will begin construction, complete with a village square, tavern, cafe's, motor related businesses, apparel and storage. If you would like your business to have a presence here please refer to the Business and Retail section of this website.
The New Trackside Business Apartments will begin construction!
The natural amphitheatre will be prepped for outdoor concerts and food and wine festivals.
Regular Market Days will begin at Hampton Downs.
The 1.2km Club Drift Circuit is to constructed during 2010/2011 construction season.
The purpose built Skid Pan, for driving training where walls of water rise to surprise you, will be completed in February.

The Pit Buildings and Hospitality Suites will begin construction.

The Go-Kart track earthworks and sealing will begin, with the proposed track being an imitation of the Hampton Downs 3.8km circuit.

The helipad will be finished.
We will also be busy with race meetings, events and driving training!
